Archive Manager

Key Features: -
  • Fast and easy to deploy, requires no expensive hardware due to its unique and incredibly efficient design which doesn't use a database for storing files or file metadata. It's NTFS from start to finnish.

  • No client software is needed on your workstations, we only use functionality that already exists in Windows and the NTFS file system.

  • One of the few archiving solutions available that works seamlessly with Windows 2012 or later de-duplication and DFS (Distributed File System)

  • Can be configure to archive to cloud storage. If you can access it via a UNC path, then you can archive to it. That includes VM's hosted on Amazon AWS, Google cloud and Microsoft Azure.

  • Completely seamless stubs can be left behind in place of archived files. Users can still access archived files in thier origional location with thier origional path, just as if they hadn't been moved.

  • Unique 'Graveyard' job which can be used to end of life archived files, remove thier links in the live file system and prepare them for final backup/deletion.

  • Lots of options and features to enable you to seamlessly migrate your files to second line storage in a way and at a time to suit you.

  • Full Unicode support for most of the file system character sets in the world including English, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi and many more (including file systems with multiple character sets!)

  • There is no loss of security, information or context with Archive Manager unlike most other solutions available. Each files NTFS permissions, file attributes and place in the directory structure are 100% preserved at all times.

Archive Manager gets the job done faster, more reliably and cheaper than anything else on the market. Support is offered for most network file systems including Windows Server shares using NTFS, NAS and CIFS shares directly hosted on SAN's.

How is this possible? Simple.. No database is ever used to store files in (or even pointers to files). The only database that is used is the tiny configuration and job scheduling one which will run happily on the completely free SQL Express 2008 R2 or later.

All of the information regarding where a file has been archived from and too is maintained in the file system itself through the clever use of directory structures and file properties.

If you are looking for a fast, lightweight and powerfull solution then Archive Manager may be just the thing.
